1. How do I enter?
Eligible participants must provide a strategic plan that will communicate a strategy for Sam’s Club to increase its visibility and penetration in the Latino community. To participate, you must complete the online registration form, provide a letter of reference from a faculty member at your college or university and submit your entry between January 3, 2010 and May 14, 2010.
2. How do I know if I am I eligible?
The $100,000 HSI Scholarship Competition, sponsored by Sam’s Club, is open to full-time sophomores and juniors who are attending an accredited Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). A list of HSIs can be found by clicking this link: http://www.hacu.net/assnfe/CompanyDirectory.asp?STYLE=2&COMPANY_TYPE=1,5. No purchase necessary. Participants must be legal residents of the United States and/or the District of Columbia. One entry per person. Employees of Sam’s Club (sponsor), or DiversityInc Media LLC (administrator), their subsidiaries, affiliates, and immediate family members are not eligible for the contest. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.

4. When does the contest begin and end?
The contest runs between January 3, 2010 and May 14, 2011.
5. What do I have to submit to enter the competition?
All applicants must complete the contest registration form including: applicant’s full name, age, primary phone number, address, e-mail address, high college/university name and expected graduation date. The strategic membership plan for Latino markets should include (but not be limited to):
a. Document Research
b. Recommendations to acquire and retain members including:
i. Marketing Plan & Timeline
iv. Leveraging Technology
v. Increasing Traffic, Basket, and Wallet Scale
6. Can other classmates be on my team?
a. Up to three (3) students can participate on one team from one school
7. Where do I submit my marketing plan?
a. Submissions must be emailed to email@example.com. No paper submissions will be accepted.
8. What do I get if I win?
a. Each team will be awarded $20,000 each. $15,000 will be awarded to the team member(s) and $5,000 will be awarded to the college or university.
9. How will the judges select the winners?
a. A judging panel selected by Sam’s Club will determine the finalists based on the criteria listed below and must follow Official Contest Rules.
b. Plans will be judged on originality, content, clarity, grammar, and community impact.

10. How do I find out if I won?
Once judging is complete, five (5) finalists will be selected to receive the scholarships. Finalists will be notified by the phone number and email address provided on their application.
